Craigslist has become a monster in the online classified business! It's reach is huge, and you can be sure that any used car, truck, van, or suv, you place for sale on Craigslist will meet with a large audience.

At one time it was considered one of the top ten websites in the world, although lately it has slipped a little, and it is my guess that the slight fall is due to some of the bad publicity, and fraudulent activity that is associated with Craigslist.

Although you do get a huge audience with listings placed on Craigslist, a portion of that audience is going to be with folks trying to part you with you hard earned cash, via fraudulent offers. These type of activities are pretty simple to spot, and if you know what to look for, you will probably be okay. Offers that include "wire funds", "shipping", and site unseen offers to purchase, are almost always made with the intent to steal from you down the line.

If you do place an ad on Craigslist, and you want to get as much bang for the buck as you can, be sure to keep you ad short and sweet, and include as many photos as Craigslist will allow. Detailed information can be shared via telephone, or email, after initial contact has been made.

One more thing. Craigslist has the feel of an online flea market, and if you are selling a vehicle of real value, you will probably be better off advertising on more elaborate sites; sites that will reach buyers with larger budgets.
