When purchasing a car or truck from an auto auction, whether
it be a public auction, or a dealer auction in the Medford area, it is
important to fully understand how they work, and what recourse, if any, a seller
has after purchase.
In many cases, a car purchased at a Medford area auto
auction, or any auto auction, will be considered final, and a novice buyer could
find him, or herself, towing their purchase home because of problems not readily
apparent upon presale inspection.
If you are not an automotive expert, you should only
participate in auctions that offer some sort of guaranty to the buyer after the
purchase is made. In some cases, auctions will offer the buyer a few moments
after the sale to more thoroughly check the vehicle, and raise claim if there
are major problems found.

Budget minded auto shoppers who are in the market for a quality used car in
Upper Marlboro MD have a buying opportunity this Saturday night at the
Colonial Auto Auction House on Old Marlboro Pike. For those who have sought
a late-model car below blue
book value, there is an opportunity this weekend
at the auto auction in Upper Marlboro.
Inventories are fluid, and at time of press the lineup of vehicles available
at the auto auction was still being determined. However, there is a reason
that people travel from throughout the metropolitan DC area, including
Northern Virginia, NE, SE, and NW DC, and Prince George’s County – as well
as the Baltimore area – for these auto auctions. Like no other DC auto
auction, Colonial Auto Auction attracts people to its central location in
This Auto Auction is the official auction house for Prince George’s County,
Anne Arundel County, and Montgomery County, Maryland. It is also the
official auto auction house for Arlington County, Virginia, and the cities
of Falls Church, Fairfax, and Gaithersburg. Recent auctions have had some
unique offerings from those areas.
The May 25 Upper Marlboro Auto Auction boasted twenty school buses,
utility/dump trucks, and cargo step vans. Likewise, the June 8 auction
featured cranes and other heavy equipment. Bidding for these materials is
fierce and spirited.

Law Enforcement Sponsored Auto Auctions
Posted May 21, 2013
The U.S. Marshals Service in the District of New Mexico raised $100,600 in
less than 30 minutes at an auto auction of seized vehicles on Friday, the
marshals service said in a news release.
The 15 vehicles seized by the FBI and DEA because of illegal activities were
off at Dugger Services in Albuquerque by Apple Towing Company.
A 1987 Cadillac sedan sold for just $300, and a 2003 Dodge Dakota went for
$1,400 in what the marshals service called the “steals of the day.”
A 2007 Harley Davidson Fat Boy with very low mileage was sold for $11,100,
and a 2004 Peterbilt Tractor Trailer Truck brought $29,000, and seven of the
items went for less than $2,000, according to the release.
Proceeds from the auctions are used to compensate crime victims and to fund
law enforcement initiatives, and funds are often shared with the law
enforcement agencies that participated in investigations leading to the
forfeiture of assets, the release said.
Auto auctions sponsored by law enforcement can be very fruitful to buyers
looking to find a steal.
